Stronger than passwords
No passwords, no problem. Passkeys offer a smarter, more secure way to sign in by generating a unique credential for each site—one that can’t be guessed, stolen, or reused. That means no more phishing risks, no more password fatigue, and a whole lot more peace of mind.

Always securely stored
Passkeys keep your logins safer with cryptographic key pairs - one public and one private. In simple terms, you only share your public key with the site or app that you are logging into, while the private key stays safe with you in your LastPass vault. So even if that site is compromised, your login remains protected—because without the private key stored with you, the stolen data is useless.

New tool, same process
Just like passwords, you can create, store, and manage passkeys using the LastPass browser extension or mobile app, making it easy to stay protected and connected wherever you go.

Passkeys go where you go
Passkeys saved in LastPass give you secure, password-free access across all your devices and browsers—no matter where you sign in.

Effortless credential management
Passkeys help eliminate the common frustrations of forgotten or reused credentials, making secure access easier for everyone.

Unlike browser-based or device-specific options, LastPass gives you true flexibility. Your passkeys sync automatically across all your devices, browsers, and operating systems—no matter where they were created—never locking you into one ecosystem like some tools.

Businesses choose LastPass

“I like that LastPass is easy to use and intuitive. It integrates well with all websites and allows me to keep secure encryption for all my personal and work-related accounts. It allows me to organize folders, share with others, and only memorizing one master password for all of those while keeping encryption secure is a relief.”

Kenny Kolijn
Independant business coach

“I use LastPass both corporately and personally. It allows me to securely store and share passwords with my family and co-workers in separate environments and happily generates random secure passwords for me, which prevents me from re-using the same one.”

Erik Eckert
System administrator, MPE Engineering Ltd.

“If you deal with other people's information, as my company does, LastPass is a must. We use it to organize sensitive client credentials, which has never failed us. Its level of security offers us flexibility if we have a vendor or team member that needs access but don't want to share the actual password.”

Frequently asked questions
A passkey is a new, more secure way to log in to websites and apps, without needing to remember or type a password. Instead of a single string of characters, a passkey is made up of two cryptographic keys:
- A public key, stored by the website or app
- A private key, stored securely in your LastPass vault (or on your device)
When you log in, your device uses the private key to prove your identity, without ever sharing it. This makes passkeys resistant to phishing, guessing, or reuse.
Passkeys make logging in faster and easier. You don’t have to remember anything; just choose to use your saved passkey, and LastPass will autofill it for you. They also offer stronger protection by design, helping you avoid common threats like phishing or credential stuffing.
When you visit a website that supports passkeys, you’ll be prompted to create one. If you choose to do so, LastPass will save it in your encrypted vault, just like a password. The next time you visit that site, LastPass will offer to autofill your passkey for a quick, secure login.
Yes. Passkeys help you log in to other websites and apps, but you’ll still use your master password to access your LastPass vault.
Not yet. Passkeys only work on websites and apps that support them, and most still use passwords today. But support is growing, and LastPass helps you manage both in one place, so you don’t have to keep track of what uses what.
